The Amazon Military SkillBridge (AMSB) program was created by the Amazon Global Military Affairs (GMA) team in partnership with the DoD, a DoD company. Provider of SkillBridge. Opportunities For Jobs And Apprenticeships
No technical background is required to apply. The program is open to military veterans and their families. Through scenarios, hands-on labs and courses, learners can gain the technical and soft skills they need for an entry-level cloud role.

In addition, we have provided training and an AWS certification path through AWS Educate to more than 10,000 active duty service members, military veterans, and spouses. Our Alexa Accessibility team invented a feature called Adaptive Listening that gives customers like Romy more time to finish speaking before Alexa responds.
With this feature activated, Romy can now ask Alexa to open the blinds, turn on the lights or turn on the TV through connected smart home devices. He and his family also speak Spanish and English.

This program provides technical training to meet Amazon's technical hiring bar for transitioning military personnel, veterans, and military spouses. These apprenticeships include data center technicians, cloud support assistants, ADC analysts, software development engineers and other roles.

This week we held our first AWS Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing program at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington, DC. This intensive two-day program teaches people how to repair and test fiber optic cables, which are made of small glass tubes and require special skills to repair.
Student veterans and spouses can explore our unique culture and technology careers through our college internships. Eligible participants are recent graduates with less than one year of experience, or current students or spouses enrolled in an accredited degree program, including bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and associate degrees.

I have never worked at another company, but I felt so familiar with the way we plan and run operations that it was a natural transition here at Amazon.
